“Deep within my heart lies a melody,
A song of old San Antone.
Where in dreams I live with a memory,
Beneath the stars all alone…”
Each year in May the staff of Shannon DentalCare goes to San Antonio for the annual Texas Dental Association Meeting. The TDA Meeting is now among the largest dental meetings nationwide. It’s a great opportunity for us to update our dental knowledge and explore new ideas in dentistry.
Again this year Dr. Shannon was a speaker host of one of the clinical presenters. This time it was Dr. Louis Malcmacher. Dr. Malcmacher is a nationally recognized lecturer on the esthetic dental practice and issues of practice management. The entire office staff was in attendance and assisted with the program.
Each of us focused on courses that involve our areas of responsibility in the office. Kathleen learned about topics relating to business and insurance administration, Rene received current information on dental hygiene matters, and Shelly sharpened her dental assisting skills.
Speaking of Shelly, on her return home she used the knowledge gained from the TDA Meeting to prepare and pass several state-administered exams. She is now a Certified Dental Assistant, the highest designation awarded for a dental assistant in Texas. WooHoo Shelly!!!
The pursuit of continuing dental education is part of what distinguishes Shannon DentalCare from many other dental practices. It has been our intention from the opening of this office to stay current on the latest techniques, equipment, and materials available in dentistry today so that we can offer the best of care to our patients. As a team we are committed to investing our time and effort to bring you what you deserve – professional service.
Adios San Antonio until next year. |
